Benj Pasek & Justin Paul Book Additional Dogfight Concert at Joe’s Pub

Tony-nominated composing duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul have scheduled an additional Dogfight concert at downtown concert venue Joe’s Pub on May 15. Along with Pasek and Paul, members from the original off-Broadway production of Dogfight are expected to perform at 9:30 and 11:30 PM, along with surprise guests to celebrate the release of the show's new cast recording.

Featuring music by Pasek and Paul and a book by Peter Duchan, Dogfight tells the story of three young Marines who, before their deployment to Southeast Asia, set out for one final boys’ night of debauchery, partying and maybe a little trouble. But when Corporal Eddie Birdlace (Derek Klena) meets Rose (Lindsay Mendez), an awkward and idealistic waitress he enlists to win a cruel bet with his fellow recruits, Rose rewrites the rules of the game and teaches him the power of compassion. Directed by Joe Mantello, Dogfight originally premiered at off-Broadway’s Second Stage Theatre on July 16, 2012. A cast recording will hit store shelves on May 21 and is currently available for digital download.

In addition to Klena and Mendez, the cast of Dogfight includes Tony nominee Annaleigh Ashford, Becca Ayers, Nick Blaemire, Steven Both, Dierdre Friel, Adam Halpin, F. Michael Haynie, James Moye and Josh Segarra.
